The Saraton Theatre opening screening of the “Boys in the Boat” will be on Thursday 18th January at 7.30pm and is a fund raiser for the Grafton Rowing Club wooden boat weekend in June 2024.
Tickets are the standard price of $ 18.00 per person, of which a very generous portion goes to Grafton Rowing Club.
The film is based on the non-fiction novel about the 1936 University rowing team that competed for gold in the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games. This true story follows a group of underdogs, at the height of the Great Depression, as they are thrust into the spotlight and take on elite international rivals.
Prior to the screening, interested movie-goers are invited to meet for dinner at the Clocktower Hotel.
Numbers will need to be confirmed with both the Saraton and the Clocktower no later than Tuesday, January 16.
